The Sound Of Sea Animals

hola everyone,

It's been a while since the last post, we had to take a break from the scene; a child was born on August 20th... But do not fear, we will come back with a new version of The Sound Of Sea Animals.

Our objective in 2008 and Spring 2009 was to try different lineup of the band and different stage setup to give us ideas for an upcoming tour this Autumn. We will go back in rehearsal soon and we'll let you know of the dates to come.... We are thrilled to meet you on tour by the end of the year.

Yeah, we finally played in Quebec City and it was fantastic. Thanks to the people that came to see us, whether it was by curiosity or by interest, the vibe was incredible. We look forward to play there again (Le Cercle is now one of my favorite place to play...thanks to Jean-Claude Anto !!), and we can't wait to play the next gig in Sherbrooke on thursday... You can see few pictures took in Quebec City on the mySpace.

Allright, we finally played in Toronto and made quite an impression (I think); although we played a little bit faster and louder than the usual, the audience seemed pleased with it. Thanks to Rebel Conservative Sound for the invitation and their reception. We are looking forward to visit them again this year. You can read about the show on Bob Battams' blog here. He also took awesome pictures, thx Bob! Don't miss the Live session on CISM thursday night and the concert at Le Cabaret Juste Pour Rire on saturday...

Hi there,
We have now two confirmed dates to add to our concert list ; first one at Le Divan Orange with Buddy McNeil & The Magic Mirrors on April 17; and second one at the Canadian Corps Legion Hall in Toronto on the next day with Broken Bricks and Dinosaur Bones. We would like to thank our friends at Rebel Conservative Sound in Toronto for introducing us to this great music scene. There is another good news for us; from now on, Bonsound will book concerts for us; so we'll play a lot this year in every city we can (well that's what I want.... :P). Other news : Yann's project, Half Baked, can be heard and seen on Bandeapart.fm here.... awesome! Alex & Nicotine's other band, Les Psycho Riders, can also be heard and seen on Bandeapart.fm here... When are we gonna do it as The Sound Of Sea Animals ?!?!? Soon I hope! Hola que tal,
We have another show in Montreal on April 25 at Le Cabaret Juste Pour Rire opening for a local band called "Maken Kozapo". Might be interesting; they are launching a videoclip and play new songs. We will play new songs as well.... Also, I will play a couple of songs on CHOQ radio on March 23 at 7 pm. You will be able to listen to the interview and the performance by connecting to their radio online... here...
There might be more dates in April; we are working on booking a small tour that would bring us in Toronto, Sherbrooke & Quebec City... We'll post the confirmed dates in a near future.

Bonjour folks!

The concert at Le Divan Orange was great, thanks everyone that stayed 'till the end... I send my love to the small crowd that showed up in a small appartment a week ago for an acoustic session in solo, it was short and sweet... Now we move on to the next gig, full band this time, at L'Escogriffe on the 25th of March to celebrate its 9th anniversary . The Walnut Kids will open for us. Can't wait...

During the next month, I will be posting acoustic demos of an upcoming EP; "Strange Weather For Common People" will be available online by the end of spring... well we hope so ;)

First show in Montreal

Hola everyone,
So the first "Sound Of Sea Animals" full show in Montreal will be on the 3th of February 2009 at Le Divan Orange. We will play most of the album and probably a couple of unreleased songs. "Fractions of Fictions" will be available for 15 $... A new project will be released soon on Audiogram, Clement Jacques; he will play before us. There will be more dates soon...
